Description
Snow Dome at the Columbia Ice Fields, 3550m, 11,647, in Jasper National Park, Alberta, in the Canadian Rockies. This is a triple Divide Peak with melt waters winding up in the Pacific & Arctic Oceans, and Hudson Bay. Slipstream Ice Route, is on the left between the sunlit and shadowed area, and is considered a very difficult (as well as dangerous) climb. Ice cliffs from the Columbia Ice Field periodically break off and scour these faces. Photo taken 9-29-1992 with a 4x5 view camera.
