Description
Bivouac at the 1,200-foot level (the only ledge in 2,000 feet) during the first ascent of the Dihedral Wall on El Capitan, Yosemite Valley, CA, 1962. There was barely enough room for two people to lie down, and it was necessary to be well anchored. Judging by the clothing worn, this was a picture of me taken either by Jim Baldwin or Glen Denny taken with my Zeiss Super Ikonta IV 2 1/4 inch square folding camera.
